TropiCali is a Way of Life
TropiCali was born from unlikely circumstances.
After working for many years in salons, Michelle created TropiCali out of necessity and an internal drive to build her own brand.
Needing a space to call home after some unfortunate events, Michelle searched and found a quaint little boutique
in the city's burgeoning Funk Zone area.
For 5 years Michelle and her other stylists worked diligently,
embracing the culture and atmosphere
that a beachside location could offer.

Then, as a new string of unfortunate events threatened to close the once-bustling salon, Michelle harnessed her positive,
boss babe attitude and sought out to keep TropiCali alive.

One of the most stressful times in her life then became the biggest blessing. Through a dear friend, TropiCali found a home
on Upper State and Michelle happily settled into her next chapter.
TropiCali was reborn and reimagined into a salon,
boutique, and spa.
Michelle Davis?
From a young age, Michelle has always been fascinated by beauty and makeup. She could often be found doing the hair and makeup of her Barbies and playing "salon" with them. Considering herself a self-proclaimed "Beach babe on rollerskates"

Michelle attended beauty school in nearby Paso Robles, and started her beauty career at the age of 23.
She worked hard, honing her skills, and finding her niche as an Aesthetics specialist. She ventured out on her own in 2010, when TropiCali was created from a need and desire for more in her career and life trajectory. She coined the name through a casual conversation with a former colleague. She wanted a name that would be timeless, yet trendy, and that completely embodied her energy and offerings.
